Mobile App Development

An app your customers keep on their home screen — or a private tool only your team can touch.

Most businesses that "need an app" actually waste money building the wrong thing. Before we build you anything, we help you work out what you actually need — then build it properly, and put it in your customers' hands.

Direct answer: We build custom mobile apps with Flutter — one codebase that becomes a fast, native app for iOS and Android (and web and desktop if you want), published to the App Store, Google Play and Huawei AppGallery. Whether it's a public app for your customers or a private tool only your staff use, you own it outright.

First, The Diagnosis

Do you even need a mobile app? Let's be honest about it.

A mobile app is not automatically the answer — sometimes a web app is smarter, cheaper and faster to reach people with. Here's the honest trade-off, so you spend money on the right thing.

Web App

Best when: reach & speed to market matter
  • Works instantly in any browser — nothing to install
  • One version for everyone; update it once
  • Cheaper and faster to launch and iterate
  • Findable on Google
  • No home-screen icon or app-store presence by default
  • Limited access to device features & offline use
  • No push notifications on some platforms

Mobile App

Best when: engagement & device power matter
  • A home-screen icon customers open again and again
  • Push notifications, camera, GPS, offline, biometrics
  • Fast, native feel; credibility of a store listing
  • Better for daily-use and field tools
  • App-store review, guidelines and ongoing upkeep
  • Higher build cost than a simple web app
  • Users have to install it — a step some won't take

The honest verdict: if you need reach and a fast launch, start with a web app. If you need engagement, device features, or a daily-use tool, build the app. Often the smart answer is both from one Flutter codebase — which is exactly why we use it. We'll tell you which you actually need before you spend.

The Stack

One codebase. Every device. Published everywhere.

We build on Flutter — the industry-recognised framework behind thousands of production apps — so a single, well-engineered codebase becomes a fast, native experience across platforms, and lands in every store South Africans use.

Yours Alone, Or For Your Customers

Private internal tools — or public apps. Or both.

Some of the most valuable apps are never in a public store at all: a private tool built only for your team — field staff, technicians, managers — locked to your people and no one else. Others are customer-facing, made to be downloaded and loved. And some are shared selectively with partners or specific clients. We build all three, with the access control to make sure only the right people ever get in.

Customer & booking appsOrdering, booking, loyalty and self-service that lives on your customers' phones.
Field & operations toolsPrivate apps for technicians, drivers and reps — jobs, checklists, capture, offline.
Client & member portalsSecure portals for clients, patients or members — documents, updates, messaging.
Marketplaces & platformsTwo-sided platforms connecting buyers and sellers, or a bespoke industry platform.

Three Ways To Start

From a focused first app to a corporate platform.

You don't need to build everything at once. We scope to the smallest thing that delivers real value, then grow it.

Tier 1 · Prove it

Focused App

One core job, done brilliantly.

  • A single, well-built primary flow
  • iOS + Android from one codebase
  • Published to the stores in your name
  • Clean, on-brand, POPIA-ready
Scope a focused app
Most businesses Tier 2 · Grow it

Business App

A real product with the features you run on.

  • Multiple features, accounts & roles
  • Integrations (payments, bookings, your systems)
  • Push notifications & offline where needed
  • Backend, dashboard and analytics
Scope a business app
Tier 3 · Scale it

Corporate / Enterprise

Complex, secure, at scale.

  • Advanced security, SSO & role-based access
  • Private distribution for internal apps
  • Complex integrations & workflows
  • Independent security testing & SLA support
Scope enterprise

Our recommendation: unless you have a proven audience already, don't build the giant app first. Start at the Focused App or Business App tier, get it into real hands, and let what you learn fund the next stage. It's the difference between an app that ships and earns, and a big one that never launches.

Where This Gets You

An asset in your customers' pockets — that you own.

The destination is a real, published app doing a real job — customers opening it by habit, or your team working faster in the field — built on one maintainable codebase, secured properly, and handed to you with the code, the accounts and the store listings in your name. Not rented. Not a prototype. Yours.

Common Questions

Straight answers.

Should I build a web app or a mobile app?

It depends on the job. If you need reach and a fast, cheap launch, a web app is often smarter. If you need engagement, push notifications, device features or a daily-use tool, build the app. Because we use Flutter, we can often serve both from one codebase — and we'll tell you honestly which you actually need before you spend.

Will it be on the Apple, Google and Huawei stores?

Yes — Flutter builds native apps we publish to the App Store, Google Play and Huawei AppGallery, so you reach every phone in the South African market. We publish under your own developer accounts, so the listings and the app belong to you.

Can you build an app only our staff can use?

Absolutely. Private internal tools are some of the most valuable apps we build — locked to your team with proper access control, distributed privately rather than sitting in a public store. Field-service, operations and management tools are common examples.

Do we own the app and the code?

Completely. You receive the source code, the backend, and the store/developer accounts in your name. It's a permanent asset — never rented, never held hostage.
